about

This was the second album I was able to record in my all-too-brief trip to Colorado in July, 2023.

It was recorded in the Western Circle Cavern, a place where psychedelic music permeates everything--a place where many of the sounds that influence the very sounds on this record were first heard many years ago, at the turn of the century with one of the musicians who participates on the record, dear friend of many (35) years, Steve Espinosa.

A true trip to years past, youthful disinhibition, the sounds of many, many years of listening to psychedelic sounds past and present, finding their spirit in our brief time in the studio on these tracks, taking their shape as echoes of different times and different places.

The sessions were nurtured by the wonder of discovery not unlike hearing things like Pink Floyd's unreleased Zabriskie Point soundtrack, Traffic Sound, or the CA Quintet, among many other discoveries, for the first time.

As Myndflower, the sounds of multi-instrumentalist composer Javier González have reverberated from various home studios since 2009 seeking to find a place outside of the continuum of time, at once familiar and exotic, at once strange and known. ... more
