about

For me, fading memories --recuerdos que se desdibujan-- evoke some of the same feelings of mystery and saudade as abandoned temples, while often idealizing what those past moments were actually like, our narratives easily ignoring the inconvenient and painful--or, on the other end of the spectrum, creating images of a reality that was unlivable and completely beyond our contemporary comprehension.

Continuing on the path opened up by Pfound Pfootage, Abandoned Temples visits and revisits places from a distant and recent past, combining collage works with intentional guitar pieces, revisiting and recontextualizing older works with field recordings old and new, evoking the imagery of memories, the temples of our past abandoned.
